Cheap charcoal can be. Ours is screened for particle size — fine enough that it works through adsorption (binding to stains chemically) rather than scrubbing them off mechanically. Use it 2–3x per week, not daily, and your enamel stays safe.
Wet your toothbrush, dip lightly into the powder (just enough to coat the bristles), and brush gently for 2 minutes. Spit, rinse thoroughly with water, then brush again with regular toothpaste to remove any residue. Done.
2–3 times per week. Daily use is overkill and could wear on enamel. Most customers keep it as a Sunday-and-Wednesday-night routine alongside their regular toothpaste.
Charcoal won't whiten veneers or crowns (they don't stain like enamel does), but it also won't damage them when used at our recommended frequency. Brush gently and you're fine.
